We got to the Grand Canyon and set up our camp and then went out exploring. The Grand Canyon is breath taking! I could just stare at the detail of it for hours…it almost looks fake!
We took Portia with us while we were walking along the rim. We wore her out! She was perfectly happy taking a water break and checking out the view.
Later, we drove along the Desert View Road. There were alot of pull offs to see different views of the canyon and at the end of the Road was the Watchtower. It was worth the drive!
The WatchtowerThe view from the Watchtower...from here you could see the Colorado River.
Saturday Howard’s parents came up for the day. We had a lot of fun being there with them and are so glad they made the trip to hang with us (and see the Grand Canyon!)
We saw a lot of wildlife while at the Grand Canyon. We saw elk, multiple deer, wild turkeys (which we almost hit while driving!) and a California condor. Howard really wanted to see a California condor and we kept seeing birds flying around that we thought were it, but when we saw one perched on a ledge and we knew that’s what it was!
Our camp site was by the bathrooms, and we saw people plug in all sorts of different things into the plug. This was the best...a coffee maker and a toaster.
S'mores were enjoyed nightly.
While at camp, Portia was on a 20 foot leash and she enjoyed exploring but this is how she would always end up...tangled around anything around her. We had such a fun time!! Next time we go to the Grand Canyon we're going to do some hiking!! We're gonna start prepping for it now!

Next time you go, I am coming...with or without Bryan and Marek!!! I wish I was there!
Looks like you guys had a blast! I haven't been to the Grand Canyon in a long time. Hiking would be a lot of fun. :)
