Do you have any kids??

Its common for people to ask us this.  We've been married for 7 years and we're Mormon. (haha)  Our answer is usually a simple "no."  I don't want people to feel bad for asking, because it is uncommon that we don't have children.  But I'm also not going to get into the why we don't have children.  People you just met don't want to know about that.  We're excited to say that we have an new answer to that question...

"No, but we're getting certified to be Foster Parents."

We found out that we were approved by AASK to get certified to be Foster Parents.  We've gone through our first interview and home visit and its very exciting...and now we have lots to do to get certified.  Our lives will change forever by doing this and we couldn't be happier.  Its nice to have something on the horizon.  There are so many children out there who need a good loving home.  We might not know much about parenting, but we're so beyond ready to love and share our lives with a child.

Its still a long process to get certified, so it will be a few months before a child will come into our home...but still, months!!  Months we can handle...we've been waiting for years!!

Yard Work

Saturday we did yard work.  We have a spot where grass doesn't grow and turns into a mud pit with the sprinklers.  Portia just loves it, but she becomes a huge mess and has to get daily baths!!  Its frustrating!  We planted some grass there and are hoping for good results!

She couldn't understand why we wouldn't let her outside.

State Fair

We went to the State Fair with our good friends, Scott and Audrey.  Howard and I hadn't ever been to the fair together.  So it had been a while since either one of us had been.  We had fun just walking around, people watching and were just amazed at the costs of the rides!!

At the fair we got Ladmo bags!!!  AWESOME!!!  I didn't watch too much Wallace and Ladmo, but I do remember how cool the Ladmo bags were!

There was actually neat stuff in the bag!!

MMM!  Indian Fry bread...that was the only thing I wanted from the fair!!

Portia Meets Uncle Charlie

Sunday we took Portia with us over to the Wills.  We'd been meaning to do this for a long time...we wanted her to meet Charlie.  We had no idea how Portia would react.  Charlie is such a good a good mannered dog so we knew he'd be good...Portia was the wild card. ;) We didn't know how this crazy dog would react.  To all of our relief, they like each other!  It was so fun to watch them play together.

Portia wasn't shy...she climbed right up and wanted to go for a ride!

Portia would get brave and try to take the toy from Charlie, but would never 'fight' him for it.
